Hi guys, as promised some proper pics of my recently completed Space Wolf Terminator, after the jump.
Hope you like the pictures. This mini is now on ebay, as ever, to fund the next project!
In the meantime I bought myself a beautiful little Malifaux mini today. This represents a double 'first' for me, it's a non GW model and it's a female (Perdita Ortega) so I'm really looking forward to painting her up.
Before I get round to that I'm going to try and finish the Tau army I started months ago! As always, I'll keep you posted.
cheers
Paul
Gorgeous work, the face however, I stress.. seems.. to be missing a highlight. Quite possibly the digital camera, I know mine blends my highlights readily so often a subtle shading can just merge with the predominant colour.
ReplyDeleteEither way, quite sure he will find a proud army to lead :D
Hi Tael, I think you're right about the highlight. Even in IRL he's looking a little flat. I appreciate any constructive crits, I'd much rather hear how I can improve on something. How else am I going to improve? That Slayer sword isn't going to win itself... : )...
DeleteBeautiful! It looks pretty darn realistic for something from an unrealistic artist. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove how the blue of the cloak both compliments and yet stands apart from the armor tone. Really good stuff!
Hey Mordian, congrats again on the 4th anniversary of your blog! Thanks for your comments, I had a tough time with the cloak at first but after a couple of re-tries I was starting to get the hang of it. Looking forward to painting more 'fabric' type stuff so I can practise.
DeleteI really like the bright blue. It's not something you see and it catches my eye.
ReplyDeleteRon, FTW
Cheers Ron! Still got another 4 of these guys in the box (without cloaks sadly) so I'm looking forward to getting them painted up.
DeleteThe fur looks great. The change in colour really catches the eye. The warm brown really brings some nice warmth to a model that would be lots of cool blue without it. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cameron, very kind. I wanted a touch of 'viking' and the fur was a great opportunity to achieve that.
