Leman Russ project complete!
It took longer than I anticipated but I finished the Leman Russ tank I showed you in my last post. Since then it has gone through some moderate weathering and now it's complete!
I'm fairly pleased with the result, especially the rust effects which I think look pretty authentic. I'm also pleased that I was able to magnetise all the weapons without too much hassle or impact on the final paint job. As I mentioned in my last post, this was my first attempt at airbrush camouflage and I think it came out pretty well. At least it will give me more confidence when I do camouflage in the future.
I'm less pleased with the big rusty exhausts. I just couldn't quite get them to look the way I wanted. Likewise, the secondary weapons look kind of boring and there's a couple of details I wanted to work on a bit longer.
In the end I just ran out of time. I wanted to get this finished and pictures posted before I go on a family holiday this weekend. In addition I've got my next 3 projects lined up and ready to go, the first of which is primed already, so I'm keen to keep the momentum going.
I'll try and get a step-by-step posted for the Leman Russ soon but in the meantime here's the pics. Hope you like.
cheers
Paul
Very nice! I really like how the rust effect turned out on the exhausts, and the camo is very cool. Great work!
ReplyDeleteCheers Mordian, I can't match your work rate but I'm trying! Next up is a Dust Walker from Fantasy Flight games. Looking forward to that one.
